Early Morning Walking Tour Hanoi
Early Morning Walking Tour Hanoi
Good morning Vietnam! Today I am going to explore Hanoi old quarter, joining the $1 Sunday morning tour from
Vietnam Best Adventure Tours with my guide, Mr. Giang. The reason why the tour takes place on Sunday morning is because during that time, most of the locals are still sleeping and we can wonder around easily. Also, the traditional market turns alive in the morning. Here is my review:
Mr Giang fetches me at my hostel really on time. He told me it would be 6:20 am. He came with other three tourists which he fetched before reaching my hostel. We start off from a corner of a small street.
Most of Hanoi people are living in a shared house. And the houses are somehow clusteres with single way in and out. The resident (in that cluster, not from other) can open small stall, like below Pho stall.
Then we pass by a SIM card seller, the expensive ones. In Vietnam, ascending number are considered bringing luck. For example: (mobile number) 01663772564 because it starts from low and ends big. Same thing applies to car platform number. You need to pay for so-called lucky number.
In the morning, the locals like to exercise by the lake. The air there is fresher than any other area nearby.
Later on, Mr Giang ask us what we want for breakfast. Since most of us ever tried Pho before, so he brings us to eat something different. He brings us to a small canteen. But we need to wait first, as the place is small and packed with diners.
After breakfast, we stop by at Mr Giang s office, to go to toilet. There he let us try the Vietnam rice wine. I am not an alcohol lover, but the wine - taste so nice - it's different with grape wine - you must try!
Bottom line: I am so glad that I found the tour from TripAdvisor. The short three hours tour was a really different experience for me, to explore the way the locals live. I highly recommend you all to join the tour. A highlight for our guide Mr Giang he is a friendly person, passionate, and knows very well what he's doing as tour guide. Nice to know him.

On the way walking to Hoan Kiem lake, Mr Giang introduce us tho the new food - an embrio of a chicken - which is somewhere between an egg and chicken embrio of about two weeks old. As you can see below, the egg has some small feathers.
I was reluctant to try, but I decided to give it a try, "why not??". It tastes so salty (egg is salty) and glad I survived :) It's a must try challenge.
We continue our journey by exploring the Hoan Kiem lake, the center of old Hanoi. This is the place where the locals spend their free time, especially the older generation.

After that we plan to go have Vietnam coffee and chat together. But too bad, I need to leave since I already have appointment with HanoiKids. Otherwise I would still exploring around. I say bye-bye to Mr Giang and my new friends and walk back hostel.
